To be a bastard or not to be...
this is a question i have been asking and an answer that has always been elusive.
Life is never fair, so why should i be? Becoz it's the right thing to do? So what if i did the right thing and could never be happy? So is it my fault that i've chosen this path? If so, what if i choose the path to my happiness but ultimately make me a bastard. So is it right?
Frankly, everybody loves to make righteous comments coz it's not them living out the situation. They will never understand and they will never want to. People loves to be on the people's side, and therefore on the side of general consensus, even if it's unrealistic.
Give u an example, is selling your kids wrong? U may say it is. But let's see it from another perspective, what if u are so poor that u and your kids have been starving for the past 3 weeks? U may say no, but let me ask u, have u been in such a situation? Then how do u know if u will or wil- not?
I've seen so call righteous man steal a drink to quench his thirst, even when he knew the man next to him needed it as much as him... Human instinct takes over. I remembered i need it too, just that i saw my friend instead of my thirst. But that is becoz i have a higher self control so i can see beyond my thirst. If ever circumstances present itself that we might have to kill each other to survive, we will never know. i will tell u if it's right or wrong when i been there.
i've been to the extreme that most singaporeans never see in their life time, so dun tell me about righteousness coz u have never been to such extreme circumstances. Coz if u have been u would have kept your mouth shut coz u will know it was not easy. U will not want to be there and proclaim what is the right thing to do. Unless u been there if not u have no rights to proclaim.
Is it wrong to kill? is it wrong to rob? Yes?
Therefore is it wrong to defend? what if u need to kill inorder to defend? Is it wrong to plunder from your enemy when u have nothing to survive on? Is it wrong to kill a child, but what if this child is pointing a weapon at your own child, will u let that child kill your's inorder to maintain your sense of righteousness?
U may say these are extreme circumstances, under ordinary circumstances will never happen. So then what is ordinary circumstances? Can i say that i can run 10km without stopping and without water u should be able to too? coz to me that is ordinary, i'm trained to do that. Yes i know that isn't a fair comparison, but life never is fair so is it fair for me to put u thru the same thing that i do for kicks and say that u should be able to do the same?
No right?
Then i suggest not imposing standard on others, and worse, if u have not even proven u are capable of that.
