It's Raining again.
Wanted to go for a run today, but it has been raining non stop since 6am this morning. Na bei... I need to go for a run becoz of my upcoming IPPT. Nabei... can't believe it, even the fucking weather wanna stop me from training. Want me to fail so i got no Fucking long weekend during my ICT.
Anyway for my CDO buddies who dun know yet, there will be an IPPT conducted during our ICT. Just got the News from our new Det Com. Whoever passed their IPPT no need to stay back and will have long weekend. Haha... So the news is out boys, go clear your IPPT.
They say "clear" means pass only right? no need commando IPPT gold again right? haha... I'll train for the gold in the 2nd half of the year lah, now i'm damn fucking weak lor... Think pass also must struggle.
haha... Think of the past, like what TJW said, i was also a "nine-one-four" commando. haha... now struggling to meet the 9;45 for Cat Y gold.
Coming Saturday, i would be taking my IPPT with Damien, haha... my SC Marathon buddy, haha... always remembered what we told Foo Ji Kun during our marathon training, "WAH... Fooo... U run so fast after turning point i don't see u already." haha... Coz that was becoz we were so far infront, after the turning point we dun see him already. haha... ok lah ok lah, it was a joke lah, but it was damn funny given the situation and scenario at that time.
Dun angry ah Foo... haha... U can make fun of me next marathon.
Didn't do much yesterday, just packed my room and watch TV.
Last Friday went to catch Fantastic 4 with Bee, Karen, Jiahui and Jack. Becoz i'm damn "eng" i went down to Cineleisure to get tickets. ha ha... No lah, i went to meet up with Siewyin in orchard to have lunch and chat. So since i'm already in town i must well get comfirmed tickets plus i could use my UOB card for a 12% discount on the tickets.
Thanks to me we got good seats lor, haha... Say "thank u jonathan" everyone! :p
Haha... The whole evening part of last friday was damn funny lor, haha... Met up with Bee who wanted to have dinner at NYDC which was at Heeren but i keep claiming it was at paragon. haha... then we decided to skip NYDC coz it doesn't have aircon and opt for 新旺 hongkong cafe at Cineleisure which i kept claiming was at Heeren.
Haha... Got Bee so confused she have to call karen to ask where is the place. haha... So funny. Think i should try that again.
Brother Jack and Jiahui missed out the dinner part but caught up with us just in time for the movie. Eh... but seriously i thot the movie could be better, It doesn't really justify all the hype, nevertheless, it was still entertaining enough to spend money on the tickets. Hee... If not, i would just wait for my next Shanghai trip to buy DVDs. haha...
After the movie we went to Maestro to have Ice Cream and chat.
And dunnoe what is wrong with these 3 gals. haha... Someone too slow lah, cannot turn her head in time. haha...
Me and brother Jack, We go back a long way. From the days we were NP canoeists, till our reign as captains, till our days in Commando till now, when we finally choose our seperate path in life. Haha... But jack, U will always be my BRRRADDUURRR... haha... Brothers.
Oh anyway while i was on my way to meet bee before dinner, i saw that Ngee Ann City was holding an "Extreme" advanture challenge show or something like that. One thing i saw stunned me. Na bei... OBS was there to conduct abseiling down the wall of Ngee Ann City.
It was not the abseiling part that i've problem with, is what OBS Singapore sent to perform the decend down the wall. NABEI... Then act so cocky when they got down.These people can't even perform a proper decent and can't even time their breaks. Really make a fool of themselves yet still wanna act so cocky.
I spoke to the instructors and ask if these are for the public, he replied me, "Tomolo are for the novice." NA BEI... i wanna tell him your people are worst than novice.
But i didn't, instead i told him, "i notice u got a secondary safety line rigged to your guys, in addition to a belayer at the bottom", almost wanna tell time your people look like fishes on a hook.
Then he realised i'm not stupid one, cannot bluff, then he said " the belayer is secondary. the safety line is primary."
Hur hur... i wanna tell him, for us, our hands are Primary, Belayer? true lah, secondary, we dun need them at all, can u? haha...
To me, dun call something an advanture if it doesn't have element of life and death involved. Without danger, there is no difference than staying home playing your PS3. In fact, If there is no danger, PS3 is more fun than OBS. haha...
Sorry my friend, i pride myself able to repel down a helicopter in less than 10 seconds and break an inch off the ground, stand on 2 feet and walk off, and that's with the one madatory break in the middle of the decent. If not, 5 seconds i will be on ground.
I can't believe they were trying to tip toe and stand when they break at the end of their decent. Can't even time their break. Na bei, so ugly. If i were the instructor i would ask them to go home. But no, he was like laughing and talking as if like some last action hero like that. While after their people got off the rope also walked off "si bei how lian", like some last action hero.
There is nothing wrong with OBS, it's a good source of advanture for people who have been playing PS for their entire life, but u shouldn't act like being in OBS make u like some last action hero like that.
Coz in this world, there are always people who have been there done that liao. I will really respect u if u send a team, the same "Si Bei How Lian" people to compete in Iron Man or to acend Mount Everest's Summit. Not go to ABC- Advance Base Camp but all the way up.
I still remember back in my poly days, i wanted to sign up for OB Slovak, at that time, they were offering only 12 slots to singaporean. 8 were give to PSB scholars. 4 were given to NP's OB alumni.
I still remember the teacher incharge seems to have an issue with me.
First Question she asked, "So... u are from...?"
me: "Canoeist."
her: "ONLY member ONLY ah?"
me: "No, committee member, Instructor and CAPTAIN!"
her: "I Seee... " Dunnoe what to say she keep flipping thru my application.
her: "what have u done for canoeing club?"
me: "organised expeditions, conduct courses, train the IVP team and Bring in 2 Bronze and 1 Silver for this year's competition."
her: "I seee..."
At this point i know she is not interested in letting me go already. NABEI... anyway tseyong say she has something against canoeist. Maybe we are just fucking too good! Oh... and she never fucking shave her armpits, she cross her hand and put it behind her head, leaning back. Na bei... see liao almost wanna vomit.
her: "Why should we let u go?"
me: "Because i have leadership, i can lead, physcally fit, and have good survival skills, positive attitude and good PR skills"
her: "i see...." Still flipping thru my application.
her, finally saw my weakness: "i see u have repeat modules before, u know all these people going are PSB scholar, what do u think will happen if u an't understand what they are talking about..."
me, fucking pissed off already: "I don't see the connection between OBS and studies..."
her: "ofcoz there is, we want to send our best."
me, replying in a nonclalant attitude: "i'm not good enough for u? hmmm... maybe u are right, i may have problem clicking with them, i always have problem with these scholars, they may not understand what i'm talking about anyway and they suck at survival skill plus have no edurance. I'm afraid they may drag me down along with them. Thanks for letting me change my mind..."
me: "besides, their maids are not going i'm afraid i may have to pack and cook for them."
In the end, he let this guy from TAS go, not becoz he is particularly good in anything but becoz he say he would pay the $2000 for the trip. Anyway he has also exceeded his quota for overseas trip as he has already been on an OB trip already, but all becoz he say he would pay.
Anyway, after a month, an article was published on them, they claimed they have an advanture of a life time, but had to go thru hardship, waterlogged boots, cold, fatigue, aching legs... Na bei... what a bunch of losers. Lucky i didn't go. I almost thot they sound like they went for leader course. haha...
My leader course, we hardly sleep, hardly eat, wore our water logged boots for weeks that when u remove your boots your feet had rotted, u could peel the entire skin off your heels. But we just put them back on and continue. Walked for miles, up mountain and across rivers. Bare the shivering cold of the night and the burning heat of the day. We wake up with clothes drenched by the endless rain in the night, and walk till they were dried by the heat of the day. All these for nearly a month, in taiwan, far from home.
What u are and what u are not, U cannot hid, u cannot pretend. Coz in the end, it will push u to the edge and u will show your primal instinct. your true form. This is leader course. haha... Well, interested? Join the commando first then. haha...
Give this to some people they would be pissing in their pants and crying for mama.
Seriously i respect everyone for their abilities, we need thinker, we need fighters, we need cleaners we are all important and have to depend on each other to survive. But i cannot stand people trying to proclaim themselves as more important becoz of certain field they are in.
Sometimes being a scholar doesn't mean u can think, it just mean that u are damn good at memorising every damn thing. Doesn't mean u are an OBS instructor u are damn good at adventure also. Jacks of all trades makes u a master of non.
As for me i dun think i'm damn good, but if u throw me in a jungle or battle, i can still survive. If i think i'm not good enough, then i think i think i should die. In the animal kingdom, only the fittest will survive. If u are not strong or smart enough, u become someone else's meal. Only human can leave with their own lie because we are never put into such test that our lives depend on it.
If any one say anything about it, out comes the lawyers and u will be charged with slandering.
Seriously i wished life was primal, where survival meant life and death. Then it will be a true test of your ability. No paper qualification, no lawyers, no lie to protect u. Just u alone and your ability. Seriously, even when u die it will be a glorious death, u go down fighting becoz it's either live or die.
But in our world, human can be more cruel than animals. We will never spill blood with our hands but instead we let our enemy suffer, we take away everything till there is nothing left but leave enough just to barely survive, death will come slow and painful, straving and suffering. This is human nature.
From us, come the most beautiful of things, but also the vilest and most evilest of things.
